BETTER LOCKS - The African tradition of Hair Locking (Locks) and hair ornamentation was used as part of festivals and celebrations. Evidence has been discovered that proves Egyptians used locked hair to symbolize their social or religious status within the family or the community. Across the continent of Africa, tribes such as the Nubians, Ashanti, Picot and the Maasai utilized unique forms of locks in their hair. Our ancestors brought these traditions of grooming across the water with them. The beauty in our hair has long been recognized and appreciated.
